Hail and Merry Meet!
One of the things that I ask myself is why am I filling my blogger site with stanza's from one of the first books that I ever read when I was learning to be a Heathen. The Poetic Edda's are just amazing and I love how they were brought together. So I write them down on my blogger site and allow others to enjoy them. I consider it to be important in a better understanding of how Heathens might of believed a long time ago.
I hope that you enjoy this journey with me.

10th Stanza from Volispo (Day 172 of 366)
Hail and Merry Meet!
There was Motsognir the mightist made
Of all the dwarfs, and Durin next;
Many a likeness of men they made,
The dwarfs in the earth, as Durin said.
I will come back on Monday with another set of Stanza's. Thanks for reading.

9th Stanza from Volispo (Day 171 of 366)
Hail and Merry Meet!
Then sought the gods their assembly-seats,
The holy ones, and coucil held,
To find who should raise the race of dwarfs
Out of Brimir's blood and the legs of Blain.
So we're looking at two different giants here, not one.

The holy ones, and coucil held,
To find who should raise the race of dwarfs
Out of Brimir's blood and the legs of Blain.
So we're looking at two different giants here, not one.

8th Stanza from Volispo (Day 170 of 366)
Hail and Merry Meet!
In their dwellings at peace they played at tables,
Of gold no lack did the gods then know,-
Till thither came up giant-maids three,
Huge of might, out of Jotunheim.

Of gold no lack did the gods then know,-
Till thither came up giant-maids three,
Huge of might, out of Jotunheim.

Taking Back Odin ( Day 169 of 366)
Hail and Merry Meet!
Today is May Day, the day that we honor the goddess Freya. During the ritual, I was thinking a lot of the nonsense that's been going on with shootings and racist believing that they are going to some grand place to be with Odin. We need to take back Odin from these people and to show that not everyone that honors the King of the Norse gods is racist and want to kill others that aren't like them.
Odin is the high one and the old Norse didn't have this concept of race, nor the belief that they were better than others because they happen to be white. White Nationalists believe that only those that are white can honor the Norse gods. However, in Wales, the Vikings that came and invaded were called 'Black Heathens.' Their presence was unwanted in the wider religious world. The people in Wales hated them and thus they called them by this name.
The Troth has black members that are heathen and they are accepted. Taking back Odin also means wearing your hammer and educating people about what your religion is all about. That's why I've taken the vow to take back Odin and to live my life as a good person and a good heathen.
